Kelly’s ceramic style in influenced by Nature and Illustration Design. Much of her work is inspired by flowers, animals, and graphic design. She strives to capture the ephemeral beauty of nature in clay.
Kelly’s work is handcrafted, either on the potters wheel, or created using hand building techniques. Much of her pottery decoration is done with painting underglaze colors, carving into the clay, or adding sculptural elements. Kelly uses both porcelain and stoneware clay, glazed and fired in an electric kiln. Some of her sculptural pieces are fired using the Raku or Pit Fired method.
